This is by far, one of the coolest design projects I've seen. It was commissioned for the Sony office in London (right near where my old housemate works) and it combines two things I really love: music and typography.

The Sony Music Timeline by Alex Fowkes celebrates 125 years of musical history covering almost 150 square meters of wall space in Sony’s Derry Street headquarters. Using just CNC cut vinyl as the sole medium, 54 columns measuring over 2 meters tall cover feature nearly 1000 of Sony Music's signed artists from 1887 to the present day.

 I can't even really say much more about it without doing some serious gushing, but watch the videos and look at the photos. I wish I could see it in real life! Maybe I'll be able to wrangle a peek when I visit  London next...

design museum // terence conran Posted by Helena

Terence Conran is now 80 years old and he's achieved so much in his lifetime! He's an English designer, restauranteur, retailer and writer and makes you feel like you haven't done much with your life yet. The Design Museum London has dedicated an entire floor to Conran's work and it's as diverse as it is incredible. It's running until 12th April and if you can get there I recommend popping in to have a squizz! We were actually there for the Designs of the Year 2012 exhibition, which I recommend even more highly!

I've finally started blogging about my Berlin trip last month and since I took so many photos at the Cloud Cities exhibition, I thought I'd share them here. It was amazing! The work that went into each sphere and they were all held by ropes attached all over the room. The height of the sphere we crawled around in... 6 metres doesn't sound that high but when you're up there, my gosh it's high! I'm so glad I insisted we went!

fashion night out // london Posted by Helena

I went to London's Fashion Night Out last night and stood 5th in line (thanks to Letizia who actually waited, while I arrived late after a meeting) outside Alexander McQueen to get my AMcQ key to potentially win a tote bag (I didn't). Then we strolled to Chanel to wait for a manicure and it was taking way too long and we had a talk by amazing fashion illustrator David Downton to get to! I'm so glad Letizia took me, because he was an incredible, engaging speaker and his work is simply stunning.
