2012_07_28 Harry Potter studio tour

oh boy, this was only one of the best days ever! i'm catching up on some rather old blog posts since this happened... erm... last july. whoopsies! anyway, unless you really really love harry potter and/or movie sets, don't worry about clicking through because there's a lot of photos under the cut!

we spent about 5 hours there all up and thoroughly enjoyed poking around the set. there's two huge buildings, chock full of HP movie goodness. the first room is just massive and we spent the most time in that one. it had the griffindor common room, the boys' dormitory, dumbledore's office, the burrow, snape's potions dungeon, and that's barely scratching the surface!

If it's possible to be in love with a house, then I'm definitely in love with this one. I could imagine myself living in Thomas O'Brien's house very happily. These photographs are by Martyn Thompson and are included in his book Interiors - a gorgeous interiors book full of people's houses and amazing, well, interiors! It's inspiring me a lot to nest at the moment... not a great thing when I'm moving countries in a few months!

book // seasons by donna hay

I decided I'd give some more Donna Hay recipes a go, so for dinner last week I made her garlic chicken breast (so simple, but so tasty) and honey jumble cakes, which I made into cupcakes since my mini loaf tin is back in Australia. I don't know how Donna's honey jumbles came out so dark, but they were still delicious! I can't really think of a Donna recipe that's ever failed me.

See what I mean? These are quite dark...
